About
Corinne Noirot-Maguire is a former Fellow of the French École Normale Supérieure (Fontenay then Lyon) and Assistant Professor of French at Virginia Tech. She holds a Doctorat from Grenoble 3 and a PhD from Rutgers. She is enjoying being a fellow at both the Folger and the Houghton libraries in Spring 2011. She would like to announce the upcoming release of “Entre deux airs”: style simple et ethos poétique chez Clément Marot et Joachim Du Bellay (Presses Universitaires de Laval, c2011). Besides this monograph now in press, her publications include “Revelations of Character”: Ethos, Rhetoric and Moral Philosophy in Montaigne (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2007), a volume she co-edited with Valerie Dionne, and a dozen of articles and book chapters. She has published on the poetry of Marot, Peletier, Du Bellay, Ronsard, La Taille, Vian, Cretin and Goudezki, and the prose of Rabelais and Montaigne. She is currently at work on a book-length project analyzing the works of Jean de la Taille around the notion of drama as a critical tool useful to confront the problem of poetry and praxis, politics and action.
