I work on the statistical physics of complex systems using numerical experiments. Currently, I'm working on an extension of the so-called "ABC model" that includes discontinuous phase transitions in one dimension (in addition to the continuous phase transition discovered in the original ABC model by Clincy, Derrida, Evans.) The model also exhibits slow dynamics in that it passes through many, many meta-stable states on the way to steady state.
More generally, I am interested in complex systems theory and statistical physics. I hold standing and as yet non-professional interests in econophysics and philosophy of science and mathematics (in particular, as they relate to analytic metaphysics.) I am also one of the moderators for sciencechatforum.com.
